Canon is in the midst of a distributor training tour covering its latest range of scanners and document management solutions. The Middle East roadshow kicked off in Jordan and will also drop into Iran, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

“I have just completed the first event in Jordan, it went very well. The message is getting through to the sales teams much better with us flying out and taking the training to them,” said Audai Altaie at Canon.

All of the training events are taking place before Gitex, with the exception of Saudi Arabia, which will happen in November.

“When we see our distributors falling behind we help them by actually going in and giving specific training on the products. It is better if I go over to them, because I can train up all of the team, rather than one representative coming over to Dubai. We usually get a better response that way and the sales force get actively interested in the latest products,” added Altaie

The biggest show of the roadshow is Iran. Canon will spend three days in Iran with Canola, its master distributor for the country. Canon will launch a Farsi language version of its Ados document management solution at the event.

“On the first day we will do the launch of the product and the next two days are devoted to technical training. The third day we are meeting with Canola’s thirty reseller and sub distribution partners. It’s going to be a big event and we’re hoping for a lot of positives to come out of it,” concluded Altaie.
