Information security company SafeNet was so impressed with Gitex last year that it is back again in 2005 for another round. Attending Gitex is a must for the company because it gets the SafeNet name out in the marketplace and allows the security company to meet existing and potential clients.

This is important, according to Andre Armstrong, managing director, SafeNet, because with many new businesses starting up, international firms opening offices throughout the region and existing businesses growing in the region, there are plenty of potential clients out there for SafeNet.

The vendor claims to provide complete security by utilising its encryption technologies to protect communications, intellectual property and digital identities, and offers a full spectrum of products including hardware, software, and chips. At Gitex, the firm plans to promote its WAN encrypters, VPN gateways, and digital identity solutions, which comprise Smartcards, USB tokens, hardware security modules that protect root keys, a card management system, and a single sign on solution.

SafeNet will also be promoting new rights management solutions at the show. The solution promises to protect content going over smart phone, whether that be enterprise apps, music, games or movies. In fact Armstrong says SafeNet is the only company that can provide DRM solutions to both the Smart phone and also in the content providers network.

Alongside promoting its products at Gitex, SafeNet is keen to learn about what projects are underway throughout the region. “Even if it isn’t apparent that our products could be utilised, it is useful to understand the investments being made,” Armstrong says.
