New ‘halls’ please!
Unprecedented demand for floor space at Gitex 2005 has prompted organisers Dubai World Trade Centre to add an extra hall, creating a further 3,900 square metres for exhibitors to use at the premier regional IT trade show.
Unprecedented demand for floor space at Gitex 2005 has prompted organisers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to add an extra hall, creating a further 3,900 square metres for exhibitors to use at the premier regional IT trade show.
Promising to be bigger and better than ever before, the new space will be used to accommodate a range of hardware exhibitors and country pavilions. During Gitex 2004, DWTC created an additional 3,000 square metres of floor space with the introduction of a tented area — The Pavilion. This space will be made available once again for hardware vendors wishing to showcase their products and solutions at Gitex 2005.
“In order to meet the growing demand, we have decided to create an additional 3,900 square metres of space adjacent to Hall 1. The new area which will be demarcated Hall 1A, can be accessed through Hall 1 and will also feature a full-service restaurant,” said DWTC Director General, Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri.
“This additional area represents a 9% increase in gross floor space and is the ideal way to accommodate more exhibitors given that the entire available space in the exhibition halls and the concourse areas are already taken up,” he added.
“This is an obvious sign of growing worldwide interest in Gitex, which has already been acclaimed as one of the world’s leading IT events. The success of Gitex lies in its sustained business generation capability and consumers’ continuing trust,” concluded Al Marri.
Gitex 2004 attracted 900-plus exhibitors representing more than 2,428 companies from 41 countries around the world. Last year’s event pulled in more than 116,000 trade visitors. Gitex 2005 takes place from September 25th to 29th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
