The Pakistan IT market is going from strength-to-strength and software giant Computer Associates (CA) is taking full advantage of the ITCN Asia trade show in Karachi to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to in-country partners and customers alike.

“ITCN 2005 is an excellent opportunity for us to highlight the expertise of our local and international teams and the strength of CA’s technology solutions,” said Ned Jaroudi, regional marketing director for CA in the Arab countries.

“We are sending a clear message to our customers and partners that CA’s local presence will be geared to helping Pakistani businesses and government institutions overcome many of the challenges related to integrating people, software and devices over a secure and reliable IT environment while reducing total cost of ownership,” he added.

The three-day exhibition, running from August 9th to 11th, includes a conference on IT trends allowing the in-country IT community an opportunity to get up to speed on the latest issues affecting the enterprise IT environment. CA also plans to use the event to make further announcements regarding its business strategy in Pakistan.

Saeid Marashi, sales director at CA, will present during an e-banking session, while Maria Medvedeva, technology services director at CA, will speak on the opening day of the conference about trends affecting enterprise IT management. The versatile Medvedeva returns to the stage on the second day to discuss IT innovation trends in the telecommunications sector.

“Pakistan has continued on a steady path to develop its ICT sector, which is driving economic growth throughout the country,” added Jaroudi. “This positive economic climate encouraged CA to invest further to support Pakistan’s growing business needs, which are a result of the country’s proactive approach to transforming its economic environment.”

CA is just one of several major international vendors paying increased attention to the sizeable market opportunity that exists in Pakistan. Cisco recently opened its first dedicated office in Pakistan and major vendors are also investing significant resources in the construction of structured in-country channels.
