Gulf Air is to provide training for unemployed Bahrainis at its revenue department.

Gulf Air is to provide a three-month training course for 21 unemployed Bahrainis in its revenue department at the airline’s headquarters in Muharraq.

The training, which aims to provide a learning experience to improve the trainees’ reasoning, confidence and judgement, will enable trainees at the end of the programme to be competent in the use of revenue accounting systems, airline revenue information entry systems, bank settlement plan websites and Oracle.

“In response to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affair’s attempts to contribute to the community growth by providing solid training to Bahrainis, we took young girls and boys, who are currently out of work in the hope of molding them to fit the country’s labour requirements,” said Najeeb Salman Al Dosseri, head of revenue, Gulf Air.

“However, we did request the ministry to provide us with candidates ready to fit Gulf Air’s calibre of employees, who are serious enough to go into the labour market after the training period and make something of themselves.”
