Air Algerie gets eighth 737

Air Algerie's latest fleet addition left Boeing Field in Seattle yesterday for its new base at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers.

Air Algerie's latest fleet addition, a Boeing 737-800, left Boeing Field in Seattle yesterday for its new base at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. The north African carrier now has a total of 13 next generation 737s, comprising five –600s and eight –800s, which makes it one of the largest operators of the type in the region. Another two 737-800s will join the airline’s fleet in August of next year.

"Air Algerie is following on a steady course of growth that utilises the superior economics of the next generation 737 coupled with exemplary service and a dedication to quality for its passengers,” comments Hamid Zeghmi, Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ international sales director.
