Royal Jordanian set a company record last month when it carried 154,858 passengers. This was both 7.5% higher than June 2004’s figure and the highest number of passengers carried by the airline in any June. The seat factor for the carrier was also up, rising from 69.9% in June 2004 to 72.9% last month.

Air cargo also saw strong growth, with RJ carrying 5436 tons of cargo, against 5172 tons in June 2004, an increase of 5.1%. The on-time performance for the airline also improved, up from 86.2% in June last year to 88.9% in June 2005. The revenues of the overall operations also enabled RJ to post profits of JD30,425 ($43,000) in June 2005, compared to JD27.671 ($39,000) in the same period last year.
