Dubai e-Government hosts the website of Dubai Women Association
The move will allow the DWA to benefit from reliable web hosting and management solutions and round-the-clock monitoring.
Dubai e-Government is hosting the website of the Dubai Women Association (DWA on its eHost Plus solution. The website will provide an effective platform for DWA to deliver detailed information about its various activities and projects to the public.
eHost Plus is one of the centralised e-services of Dubai e-Government that is being used by several government departments as well as private sector companies. Rehab Lootah, acting director of e-services for Dubai e-Government, says, "e-Government has adopted global best practices to ensure that our customers are provided with quality web hosting services which offer a complete solution to meet all web hosting requirements. By choosing to base their website on the eHost Plus platform, DWA will have the benefit of a secure facility with round-the-clock monitoring."
e-Government has been aggressively promoting electronic transformation and web availability as part of the wider digital transformation taking place in Dubai, and the partnership with Dubai Women Association is another step forward in this regard, according to Lootah. Hamdah Bin Kalban, eHost co-ordinator says, "eHost Plus features a fully integrated content management system (CMS) based on Documentum, offering seamless integration between the CMS system and the portal solution. Besides, DWA will also have the advantage of a multi-layer architecture that facilitates intrusion detection and elimination."
Dubai Women Association has been organising a wide range of programmes aimed at developing the overall skills of women in UAE. The creation of the website will help spread awareness about these programmes among the public, and provide them an easy and effective way to communicate with the association.
“The site includes a wide range of information about the different committees and centres annexed to the association, including health, social and information committees. It also includes the association’s monthly activities schedule. Apart from that, the site hosts links to many other websites that discuss women’s issues,” says H.H Sheikha Ameena Al Tayer, president of DWA.
Dubai’s e-government has been initiating various programmes and projects aimed at the uplift of women in society and increasing their involvement in the public sphere, enabling their contribution to the overall development of Dubai. “As a step towards achieving this goal, e-Government has launched a host of initiatives to heighten e-awareness and encourage more and more women to take to the internet, so they can avail the e-services offered by Dubai e-Government," Lootah concludes.
