Dubai Internet City (DIC) will once again be taking a number of its business partners to Gitex Saudi Arabia as it looks to ease their passage into the Kingdom’s IT market. This year, business partners from the DIC community attending the show include eDOC Solutions, CGACE and Comcave, Pointsec, MidEast Solutions, Network Appliance, Post cti ME, Comguard and Mitel Networks.

As with last year’s successful event, the main focus for the DIC team will be the promotion of its partners and the strengthening of its ties with the ICT industry in Saudi. For the partners, the main objective will be the promotion of their solutions to the Kingdom’s users.

“There’s no denying the importance and value of Saudi’s contribution to the economy of the region,” says Jamal Abdulsalam, director of partner relations at DIC. “The Community Pavilion at Gitex Saudi offers a strategic platform for our business partners who are present with us at this event to strengthen their brands and further develop ties with the Saudi market.”

Last year, Saudi Arabia saw the IPO of STC and the implementation of mobile licensing for competition to open up more opportunities in the Kingdom. As such Abdulsalam believes liberalisation is truly underway in the Saudi and that this presents a huge business opportunity for DIC’s partners. “The Kingdom’s potential for ICT consumption is increasing due to factors such as the recent liberalisation of the telecommunications industry, which is increasing opportunities for new communications and media technologies,” he says.
