US-based AlterPoint has launched DeviceAuthority Suite 3.5, a toolset designed to automate configuration and administration of network devices.

DeviceAuthority Suite 3.5 is an intelligent network change and configuration management tool for enterprise networks.

The suite provides real-time visibility, automation and governance of complex IT infrastructures. DeviceAuthority Suite allows IT staff to better assess the impact of changes across network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balances and wireless access points as well as more effectively fulfill compliance requirements, enhance overall security, improve the analysis of network failures and performance problems, and optimise the planning for business change.

The suite consists of a Device Authority Server, which is the intelligent foundation of DeviceAuthority Suite providing a secure, centralised repository and network governance.

The DeviceAuthority Server provides a core set of services that are leveraged by the Audit Module and Update Module. Extensive multi-vendor support and out-of-the-box integrations with enterprise management systems ensures a comprehensive perspective of the network.

The DeviceAuthority Audit Module provides total real-time visibility and reporting of network devices monitoring security and compliance. With real-time change detection and correlation, this module provides detailed inventory, compliance and change reporting, as well as fast troubleshooting and one-click recovery.

The Device Authority Update Module provides reliable and secure, automated, implementation of changes throughout the enterprise network ensuring consistency and standardisation.

Built on AlterPoint's Integrated Network Environment (INE), the module facilitates the change implementation process through built-in workflow, validation, auto-scripting, syntax checking and configuration searching.
