Robbers raided Eros’ Samsung support centre yesterday, on its first day of business. Digital camcorders, mobile phones, and even LCD monitors were stolen from the building in a dawn break-in. Eros has moved quickly to repair the damage and the centre is now open for business.

“We came in this morning to find that the premises had been broken into and goods stolen,” explained a spokesman for the company. “The police are currently investigating but it was a shame that we could not do business on the first day of our opening.”

The nefarious gang emptied two cabinets of their contents, namely expensive digital camcorders, mp3 players and mobile phones. Also snatched were LCD monitors installed for customer use. Surprisingly equipment used by the call centre staff was left untouched. The authorities are following up leads but as yet there has been no breakthrough in the investigation.

According to Eros, the centre is now open for business and the retailer is encouraging consumers, not robbers, to make full use of the facility with free gifts, discounts and other promotions during this week.
