Jordanian software vendor Genie-Soft plans to expand its business into the Middle East and team up with resellers and distributors across the region to tap into end-user demand for security solutions.

“Our core business is in the US and Europe, in markets where there is a realisation of the need to protect data,” said Dr Taleb Hammad, executive vice president at Genie-Soft. “This trend is now surfacing in the Middle East. Our products have huge potential in this region; they are not costly and they are indispensable for data backup.”

“We are looking for resellers and distributors who have the skill sets and the know how to market our products in the most effective manner. We are currently pushing aggressively on marketing to build end-user pull and create awareness on the channel side,” he added.”

To tempt the channel, Genie-Soft has a comprehensive array of incentive programmes, which promise rebates of up to 60% on product purchases. “We want to ensure that our partners can maximise their revenue streams and enjoy as much profit as possible,” said Hammad.

Established in 2001, Genie-Soft is a developer of backup and security software solutions aimed at both consumers and small to medium businesses. The company recently tied up with fellow software vendor Sonic Solutions, granting it access to optical media backup technology. Genie-Soft’s latest product, the Genie Backup Manager Professional 5.0, lets users backup, catalogue and encrypt data on their systems.
