Dubai TV installs JVC’s HD monitors

In its first steps to acknowledging the possibility of broadcasting in High Definition in future, Dubai Media Inc. (DMI) has installed JVC’s SD/HD broadcast monitors in its studios. The new monitors have been installed as part of DMI’s plan to upgrade the monitors and other legacy equipment in Dubai TV’s studios and editing suites. The supply and installation of the monitors was undertaken by Oasis Enterprises, sole distributors of JVC’s Broadcast & Professional equipment in the UAE and GCC.

“We have been satisfactorily using JVC monitors in our studios since 1996,” says Abdul Rahman Al Ali, director of Engineering, Dubai TV. “More importantly, we get good customer service and immediate backup from Oasis and this is very important for any broadcast station,” he adds.

JVC’s new SD/HD DTV series enables professional broadcast users to use the monitors in their current set-up and also to upgrade to HD in future by adding an optional card. “For customers who are hesitant to buy HD products before HD broadcasting is officially adopted by regional broadcasters, this is a safe choice,” says Basil Al Arif, sales & marketing manager of Oasis Enterprises. “At the same time, the fact that this investment allows them to use these products in future as HD monitors makes them very attractive.

Oasis has refurbished Dubai TV’s studios A, B and C as well as its master control room with JVC monitors.
