NEC has expanded its server range with the launch of what it calls the “value-conscious” Express5800 TM710. Aimed at small and medium size firms looking for a reasonably priced solution, this new addition to NEC’s Express5800 server family is available in Intel Celeron or Pentium 4 configurations (the P4 version includes hyper-threading technology).

The TM710 is available with up to one terabyte (1TB) of internal hard disk storage space and an optional HotSwap hard disk cage can also be added. Customers can choose integrated SATA and SCSI RAID0 /1 technology and an 8x AGP slot is also included, making upgrading the server’s graphics a simple task.

NEC is also offering buyers dual-layer DVD writer and tape drive options, providing an instant means of backing up crucial files and applications. All these components are housed in a tool-less chassis for easy access and serviceability, plus the TM710 bundles ExpressBuilder and ESMPRO configuration software.

“The NEC Express5800 TM710 is the ideal entry server solution for today’s enterprise wanting true value for money”, commented Denis Bellicam, director, Enterprise Computing Product Group, NEC Computers International.

The NEC Express5800 TM710 server is available immediately throughout the region.
