Underground deadline is now 3rd January 2005

Bids for underground works were to be submitted by 1st December 2004

The deadline for the submission of tenders for the underground systems for Dubai Metro system has been postponed to 3rd January 2005. It was to be submitted by 1st December 2004.

However, the deadline for submission of the bid for aboveground structures such as stations remains 31st January 2005. The promoter, Dubai Municipality, expects to receive the final bids for the financial package by the end of February.

Five multi-national consortia have been approved to build what is expected to be one of the most modern light rail transit systems in the world. Bids on the rolling stock and part of the MEP works were submitted before 1st November 2004.
