Sahm technologies, a subsidiary of Emaar Properties and US$1.35 billion Wipro have entered into an agreement to provide Oracle eBusiness suite application management services for customers in the region.

Under the agreement, Sahm and Wipro will offer Oracle applications and related functional, technical support, database administration support, refresher and user training besides upgrades.

“Sahm is pleased to add this new service line to our existing technology services. This strategic partnership with Wipro will provide tremendous value to customers in the Middle East region. What we provide to our customers is the strength of Sahm in the region coupled with Wipro’s expertise and best practices in the area of Oracle applications,” says Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO of Sahm Technologies.

Sahm and Wipro’s Oracle Practice division have built an E-sustenance center for application management. The two vendors hope that by combining Sahm’s regional presence and Wipro’s global experience and its customers across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait they will offer significant advantages to customers wanting ongoing application management services.

“Wipro is committed to building a strong business base here in UAE as well as rest of the Middle East. We are delighted to have entered into a relationship with Sahm and we aim to grow the IT industry in the Middle East through our combined strengths. The Middle East region is a critical component of our global expansion strategy, as it is a rapidly growing IT services market,” says Rajat Mathur, vice president, International Operations, Wipro.

Sahm with its parent company Emaar is currently building what it claims to be the world’s largest ‘intelligent city’. When operational, the commercial and residential complex will offer state-of-the-art Internet Protocol (IP) network and wireless broadband services to thousands of residents and business entities located within the Emaar territories.
