PalmOne touts silver this holiday season

PalmOne has launched a special silver edition of its Zire 72 PDA. Designed to attract present buyers over the holiday season, the new version will be officially launched at today’s PalmOne sponsored Middle East Smartphone & Wireless Summit in Dubai.

PalmOne has launched a special silver edition of its Zire 72 PDA. Designed to attract present buyers over the holiday season, the new version will be officially launched at today’s PalmOne sponsored Middle East Smartphone & Wireless Summit in Dubai.

According to PalmOne’s press announcement, silver was chosen because of its rising popularity in the West. The company reckons silver has become a popular colour choice for cars, fashion and interior design due to its being increasingly associated with style and success.

“Silver is stylish, clean and modern and is perceived as a premium colour,” explained Francois Bornibus, vice president, palmOne, EMEA. “Following demand from users, we are delighted to offer the multimedia Zire 72 handheld in silver, in time for those seeking a smart-looking present over the holidays.”

PalmOne originally introduced its Zire range of consumer handhelds two years ago. The Bluetooth enabled Zire 72 was unveiled earlier this year and features a built-in 1.2-megapixel digital camera, an MP3 player and a 320 x 320 pixel colour screen.

PalmOne’s silver edition Zire 72 costs $286.
