Hard disk manufacturer Western Digital has this week announced expansion plans for its Dubai headquarters.

The firm has said it will add new personnel in an effort to continue building its market share and support new and existing channel partners.

Western Digital, which claims to the number one hard disk drive vendor in the region, hopes to drive sales in the key markets of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE. Hafeez Khawaja, senior director, Middle East, Africa and South Asia, quotes figures by industry analysts IDC when claiming that Western Digital now accounts for "around 30%" of the region's hard disk drive market.

"We have demonstrated a strong commitment to the Middle East," he explains, "and we are continuing to invest in order to provide the highest level of service and support to our customers."

Western Digital is exhibiting at Gitex through its partner Al Yousuf LLC, which is located at stand C4-1 in hall four. Visitors to the booth can view Western Digital’s full range of external hard disk drives.
