NEC serves up Al Yousuf

NEC has appointed Al Yousuf Computers as its official NEC and Packard Bell service centre for the UAE.

Hardware vendor NEC has appointed Al Yousuf Computers as its official NEC and Packard Bell service partner for the UAE. Al Yousuf is already an authorised reseller for NEC in the UAE. Under the terms of the new agreement, Al Yousuf will provide in-warranty services for all NEC and Packard Bell computer products, while also maintaining the capability to provides services outside stated warranty periods.

A toll free telephone number will be set up allowing new customers throughout the UAE to contact the NEC service organisation at no added cost. Al Yousuf service staff will provide on-site assistance for customers using NEC desktops or servers with notebook services available at the company’s dedicated premises.

Nicolas Pichon, senior manager international services and solutions at NEC, said: “Appointing local service centres was the natural next step in supporting our customers in the UAE. The appointment of Al Yousuf Computer as a Service Centre is only the beginning and we look forward to increasing the range of services in the UAE, as we believe this will further increase NEC CI’s penetration in the market.”

Suhail Zain El-Deen, Director of Al Yousuf IT Companies, added: “Our appointment is great news for all concerned. We have an exceptional support infrastructure and with this appointment we will be able to quickly and efficiently manage any service and support requirements of our clientele.”

Al Yousuf plans to invest in the development of the NEC brand in the UAE. The company hopes to start stocking NEC products in Plug-Ins City Centre store in Dubai and believes the brand has the potential to become the second biggest IT hardware brand in the UAE. NEC is the sixth largest manufacturer of PCs in Europe according to IDC figures released back in January 2004.
