Etisalat Academy and security vendors to host MEITSEC 2004
Etisalat Academy and its security partners will organise this year’s Middle East Information Technology Security Conference (MEITSEC) on December 12 –15. For the fourth year, the event will play host to international IT experts from the US, Europe, GCC countries and the Middle East region.
Several international, regional and local IT vendors will take part in the MEITSEC conference, including Cisco Systems, Symantec, Internet Security Systems, Mcafee International, Computer Associates and the European Consortium for IT Security Professionals.
“The Middle East Information Technology Security Conference (MEITSEC) has become a landmark for the Etisalat Academy and its IT security partners year after year, with a growing participation from the GCC countries and Middle East, as well as both public and private sectors of the UAE, ” says Dr. Doaa Fares, general manager of Etisalat Academy.
“The event is considered an ideal opportunity for IT security experts and professionals to meet in one place and discuss the latest developments in the field of IT security and related issues,” adds Fares.
MEITSEC 2004 is expected to host 30 international speakers, and hopes to lure 500 delegates from around the world. During the event, the latest technologies to tackle security threats will be addressed for the first time. A special session will be dedicated to a virtual competition between two groups of hackers, the white hat and black hat.
Special emphasis will be placed on international collaboration in cyber crime investigations, this will be addressed by global IT speakers in cyber crime investigations, e-forensics, and forensics workbench In addition, the conference will focus on technical, legislative and legal fields in electronic archiving and banking operations being processed through the internet. A number of workshops will be organised alongside the conference as well as a comprehensive exhibition for displaying security systems and programmes designed by well-known IT companies from the USA, Europe and the Middle East.
