Adtran, the enterprise networking vendor has unveiled plans to target the Middle East market by signing up an EMEA-wide distribution agreement with Anixter International, the distributor and logistics services provider of connectivity products and services.

Adtran, the U.S. carrier and business class network access provider has unveiled plans to target the Middle East market by signing up an EMEA-wide distribution agreement with Anixter International, the distributor and logistics services provider of connectivity products and services.

“Now customers in the Middle East region will have an alternative in their supplier of world-class networking equipment – one that provides greater value and quicker return on investment,” says Ed Werner, Adtran’s vice president Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA).

Under the terms of the agreement, Anixter will distribute Adtran's line of enterprise networking solutions, with special emphasis on the NetVanta family of access routers, Ethernet switches and VPN/firewall offerings.

This will increase Anixter’s presence in the networking market, while providing Adtran with the logistical support and reseller base in the region.

The 19-year old vendor targets carriers and enterprises to enable voice, data, video, and internet communications across copper, fiber and wireless network infrastructures. Adtran has managed to sign up 1300 customers globally till date.
