MENA eSolutions, the sole licensed distributor of Tibco in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, is gearing up for its second successive year at Gitex 2004. The enterprise application integration vendor, which serves verticals such as financial services, media, government, oil & gas and aviation, is looking forward to showcase its significant customer wins and product lines during the event.
“Clearly Gitex is the most important IT exhibition in the Middle East, with an increasingly global reach. We see it as a great opportunity to identify companies who might be interested in being represented in the region by us and companies that want to expand their business interests,” says Julian Lloyd, vice president, corporate development & planning, MENA eSolutions.
With over 2000 enterprise customers globally, Tibco’s regional partner has secured some large customer references in the past three years, including the Ministry of Hajj in Saudi Arabia, Rajhi Bank, Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC), Etisalat, Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Sejel. MENA intends to use Gitex as a strategic platform to highlight its recent successes and how it intends to add yet more end users to its client list.
“We also have some interesting news and a major tie-up to announce at this year’s Gitex,” says Lloyd.
MENA eSolutions hopes to harvest a large number of contacts from this year’s show, as well as potentially recruiting new employees from the 80,000 plus attendees to drive its business forward.
“We view Gitex as an excellent recruitment platform to identify potential employees. We also plan to identify potential business partners who want good representation in the software infrastructure space from a company with the right resources and skills,” says Lloyd.
Judging by the success of last year’s event, Lloyd has higher expectations from this year’s Gitex. “This is a key platform and a major annual event. We have to be there — if we were not then would not be major player,” he says.
