ASUS enhances distribution

Taiwanese IT behemoth ASUS plans to boost its distribution channel across the Middle East as the vendor pushes beyond its core components business.

Taiwanese IT behemoth ASUS plans to boost its distribution channel across the Middle East as the vendor pushes beyond its core components business. ASUS will use Gitex to boost awareness of its entire product range, spanning what it refers to as 3C: computers, communications and consumer electronics.

“ASUS is a technology oriented company providing leading edge innovation and the best value solutions to our entire customer base,” says Wafa Kassab, marketing specialist at ASUS Middle East. “ASUS is focusing on the Middle East and Africa region and we will use Gitex to identify the best new channels for products such as networking kit, servers and handhelds.”

As well as its core components range, ASUS will also display its mobile phone, PDA, notebook, networking and wireless products at Gitex. In the notebook space, ASUS will showcase its W1000N model — an integrated system with built in TV tuner and a credit card sized remote control.

ASUS hopes to not only snare the interest of end users but also build contact with potential new distribution partners across the Middle East and Africa. ASUS has identified the region as a key growth market and plans to invest more in extending its channel-to-market and recruiting more distributors. As well as reaching out to distribution partners, ASUS is also running dealer programmes in some countries to reach out to its second tier reseller channel.
