SAS educates Middle East market

Business intelligence (BI) software vendor SAS is participating in this year’s Gitex, but under stealth mode. “This year SAS is not participating directly in Gitex, but we’re running advertising and marketing campaigns to prepare the ground for next year. We would like to educate the market about SAS through this strategy,” says Basel Tutunji, regional manager of SAS Middle East.

After receiving an excellent market response at Gitex in Riyadh earlier this year, SAS is working with its local partners to create awareness for its new line of products. Highlights include version 9 of the vendor’s flagship BI platform. It provides a set of integrated software for data integration, easy-to-use business reporting and analytics.

“Gitex provides SAS with a very important opportunity to target decision makers in several leading enterprises in the Middle East. We have great confidence in the capabilities and experience of partners such as Al Falak, with which SAS has enjoyed a strong relationship for more than 25 years,” says Tutunji.

Other SAS products on show will be its data warehousing suite, BI servers and new analytic applications, all of which provide regional enterprises with an integrated, holistic view of their entire organisation from internal operations through to suppliers and customers.

“With scores of implementations already in operation at a number of leading organisations around the region, SAS is looking to grow its customer base in the region’s key vertical markets, such as oil & gas, telecoms and finance,” says Tutunji.
