EMC ramps up ILM initiatives

EMC will use this year’s Gitex to educate regional decision-makers about the concept of information lifecycle management (ILM). In addition, the storage vendor will also be telling visitors about its regional expansion.

Although EMC makes numerous storage hardware solutions, the vendor will be focusing on software this year as it looks to tap into the region’s increasing interest in information management software that automates and administers storage environments.

“As regional demand for information storage remains robust, Gitex is an ideal time to help decision-makers craft their data management strategy in a way that reduces costs and increases access to key information,” says Mohammed Amin, regional manager for EMC Middle East. “In the run-up to Gitex, EMC is focusing on expanding our channel community for both the enterprise and SMB markets. Our new office in Saudi will be officially opened, and we’ll be meeting with specific Saudi customer delegations during Gitex.”

Given the increasing competition and cost constraints faced by regional organisations, EMC claims to be generating considerable interest in its ILM strategy, as it ensures optimal management of a business’ constantly growing data throughout its life.
