Iridium Satellite will be showcasing a range of products at Gitex 2004 as it bids to build its market share in the Middle East.

The US-based satellite operator will have a number of its own and its partners’ solutions on show, geared towards the marine, media and aviation sectors.

Iridium is also hoping to extend its regional appeal during the exhibition by highlighting the international range of its network.

“Our overall message at Gitex will be our ability to deliver satellite communications for organisations requiring global reach,” says Liz DeCastro, corporate communications director at Iridium Satellite.

The products the operator plans to highlight include the BEAM RST Unit and Battery Pack, the EuroCom Industries Iridium Fixed Mount Unit, the SkyConnect Marine Unit, the 9505 Iridium Subscriber Unit, and the 9522 Iridium L-Band Transceiver, which supplies power, an antenna and user interface components such as an end users’ keypad, display, microphone and speaker to other devices.
