Al Rai TV chooses Pinnacle

When Al Rai TV, Kuwait’s first privately-owned commercial broadcaster, goes on air later this year, it will have in place a complete live graphics solution from Pinnacle Systems. Al Rai will be using Pinnacle’s character generators, and clip & still store servers. It will use the vendor’s Deko1000 and the PostDeko for design and production as well as the DekoCast to incorporate playout.

The solution, which will be integrated by Sony Business Middle East, will include Pinnacle’s multi-channel character generator FXDeko II with ClipDeko and DekoObjex options. In addition to FXDeko II’s real-time 3D effects, ClipDeko offers clip and audio playback while DekoObjex promises to deliver the flexibility of the latest data-rich designs.

“As Kuwait’s first privately owned commercial TV broadcaster, Al Rai TV hopes to provide an innovative broadcast offering for its audience, and it is imperative this be a reliable service,” says Al Rai TV’s technical and operations director, Hasan Sayed Hasan.

“Pinnacle is known here for Live Graphics; its Deko family and the Thunder Clip server have proven their reliability. Also, on-air graphics operators in the Middle East are very familiar with these systems, so it will be easier to use.”

The Al Rai solution is based on Pinnacle’s Thunder XL clip and still server. In addition, Pinnacle’s Palladium Store 1000 provides the station’s graphic stills and clips repository.

These solutions will be integrated with the ENPS newsroom system and automated using Deko MOS and Thunder MOS options, alongside Pinnacle’s SYNC option.
