Pinnacle plans partner push

Pinnacle is set to boost its channel offerings and support across the region by opening a training institute and launching new video solutions at Gitex, where it will also be on the lookout for more partners.

Video solutions vendor Pinnacle Systems will up the channel ante for this year’s Gitex with a raft of channel plans to increase its reach across the Middle East, including signing up partners, providing extra training and support to its existing channel network and launching a range of new products.

“We have a several new exciting developments for the Middle East, and Gitex will be the world launch for the latest range of our Liquid brand editing solutions,” Ziad Soussou, Middle East sales manager at Pinnacle Systems. “We will have experts flying in to demo these to the thousands of visitors who will visit Gitex. I am sure our partners will be excited about the new Liquid series, which will be one of the first software programmes to offer high definition editing at affordable prices.”

Pinnacle System’s regional training centre, The Pinnacle Institute, will train up the vendor’s channel and customer base and keep them up to date with the latest offerings from Pinnacle.

“Pinnacle will be gathering distributors from the GCC to attend training sessions at our new Dubai institute for a period of several days rather than going through the difficulties of sending them further afield,” added Soussou. “This training will cover the new Liquid solutions, and give a significant boost to partners’ skill sets. We intend to ensure that this knowledge is passed on to the lower tiers of the channel by providing distributors with the necessary skills to train their reseller partners.”

Pinnacle Systems opened its Dubai-based Middle East office a year back and has enjoyed success in building channels to market for range of video platforms aimed at both editing enthusiasts and also professionals in the recording industry. The vendor has a partner structure in the GCC and will use Gitex to finalise more deals.

“The GCC base is set but we have some countries where we need to focus more. Iraq might require more than one key partner and Libya is another emerging market where we want to sign up a partner. There is still potential for adding partners and that is why Gitex benefits us greatly as we can make contact with people from every region.”

Pinnacle Systems recorded growth of 40% for the Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean region last year. With the explosion of video capture devices the vendor expects even higher growth in 2004.
