Middle East IT and electronics retail giant Jumbo Electronics has served up a retail value-add by offering the option of FedEx Express delivery service available to shoppers at all of its UAE stores. Jumbo claims that the new service will allow international customers to send IT and technology gadgets such as digital cameras and mobile phones back to their home countries at affordable rates.
“Our arrangement with FedEx Express will allow us to share the advantages of their global express transportation network with our shoppers,” said JP Nambiar, retail manager, Jumbo Electronics. “It is important that our customers have access to a reliable, convenient service through which they can reach out to their loved ones at home, be it for a surprise gift or a special celebration.”
“We anticipate an extremely positive response to this service, especially in the lead up to the gift giving season,” said Hamdi Osman, regional vice president, FedEx Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Africa. “Together, Jumbo and FedEx have filled the gap in the market for a reliable delivery solution in the consumer electronics retail sector. Jumbo’s retail counter staff have been thoroughly trained in FedEx’s systems and we are confident that FedEx services will add value for customers.”
Jumbo customers will be able to get purchases booked and tagged within minutes of purchase and can track the package either through FedEx’s website or telephone support. Offering an affordable and efficient international delivery service is a vital value-add for IT retailers when a significant proportion of their customer base wish to transport or send purchases to other countries within the region or even further afield.
