Logicom lands McAfee rights

Logicom has been appointed as an official distributor for security software vendor McAfee in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Pakistan, Lebanon and Jordan.

Logicom has been appointed as an official distributor for security software vendor McAfee in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Pakistan, Lebanon and Jordan. Logicom plans to embark on a series of training sessions to educate Middle East resellers on all aspects of McAfee technology and products.

Logicom will handle the complete range of McAfee OEM products. The vendor currently works with Mindware, Aptec and OnLine Distribution in the Middle East and Softworld in Pakistan. The move adds to Logicom’s vendor portfolio as it aims to provide a full suite of hardware and software products to service resellers’ needs across the Gulf and Levant. Other vendors already distributing through Logicom include Microsoft, IBM, Seagate and Cisco Systems. Logicom has office and warehouse facilities in Cyprus, Lebanon, Greece, Jordan, Kuwait and the UAE.

New-York quoted McAfee recently announced the extension of its PrimeSupport service to customers around the world. The improved service includes 24-hour telephone support for all customers. McAfee has introduced a new “Follow the Sun” initiative to provide global access and immediate availability to customers requiring live technical support for urgent problems during business and off-prime hours around the world.

McAfee posted global sales of US$226m in the second quarter ending June 2004 with after-tax profits hitting US$10m.
