ACC awarded contract for Dhs170 million Saba Office Tower

It is part of US $1.2 billion planned investments by Saba Group.

Taking one more step ahead in the development of the first freehold office tower in Dubai, Dubai-based realty major Saba Group announced the award of the construction contract for the 36-storey Saba Tower I to leading regional construction firm Arabian Construction Co (ACC).

A top official of Saba Group said ACC was awarded the contract for the Dhs170 million project following a comprehensive due diligence process, including a public tendering exercise and several rounds of evaluation and assessment by the company’s project development team.
Behrouz Javaheri, Saba chairman, said that as the first freehold office project in Dubai, Saba Tower I is a pioneering development. “We have conceived Saba Tower I as an ultramodern building within a progressive community that is poised for booming growth.

“In keeping with this positioning, Saba Tower I incorporates cutting edge architectural and design elements. Our choice of ACC for the construction contract was made on the basis of their proven ability and experience in the execution of several complex and demanding real-estate development projects across the UAE and broader Middle East region,” added Javaheri.

Saba Tower is one of the first real-estate developments in Jumeirah Lake Towers being promoted by Nakheel. It offers a spectacular view of Palm Jumeirah, and is almost a stone’s throw from Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City.
Javaheri said that following the completion of the piling and foundation works ahead of schedule, complete construction mobilisation on the site has been completed. “Full-scale construction on the project has already commenced and we expect to adhere to the time-lines that we have committed to our customers,” he added.

Saba Tower I is the first in a series of a planned investments amounting to $1.2 billion by Saba Group in the freehold property sector in Dubai. In November 2003, the group launched the first twin-tower freehold residential complex – the 36-sorey Saba Tower 2 & 3 – within the Jumeirah Lake Towers community.

Hassan Auji, ACC general manager, said: “It is a privilege for us to be closely associated with the development of such a unique and pioneering project. We believe that the project will add to our reputation of being partners of a number of landmark projects in the region and in the UAE. We have been operating in the region since 1967 through a comprehensive regional network throughout the Middle East. Our projects span from power generation and desalination plants to factories, hotels, hospitals, residential and commercial buildings,” he added.

Primary consultants for the project are the reputed UK-based architectural and design firm, RMJM. Saba Tower offers office space ranging from 113 m2 to an entire floor of more than 900 m2. Amenities include a health club, wide choice of recreational facilities and a modern conference centre.
