Baghdad gets French radio service

Radio network Radio France Internationale (RFI) has begun transmitting French language programmes to Baghdad.

Radio network Radio France Internationale (RFI) is transmitting French language programmes to Baghdad in addition to its bouquet of Arabic programmes already available in the country.

The RFI broadcasts are available on the FM band. RFI subsidiary RMC Moyen-Orient has been broadcasting Arabic programmes to Iraq since July 2003 and to Basra since November 2003. Arabic programmes are available on the FM dial and medium wave frequencies.
