EMC unveils ILM products

EMC Middle East has introduced a raft of new products to the region, all of which tie into its Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) mantra.

EMC Middle East has introduced a raft of new products to the region, ranging from high end, mid-tier network attached storage (NAS) platforms through to content addressed storage (CAS) systems.

Each launch forms part of EMC’s latest marketing mantra, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), which involves getting the optimal management of information throughout its life, from creation and use to archiving and disposal.

“The amount of information that organisations from Abu Dhabi to Cairo need to manage and access is immense and constantly growing. EMC’s vision of ILM fundamentally changes the way that information is managed,” says Mohammed Amin, general manager, EMC Middle East.

“With ILM, companies can keep information productive throughout its life and respond promptly to sudden changes,” he adds.

The ILM ingredients unveiled by EMC Middle East include a new Symmetrix DMX, which now features the vendor’s DMX-2 technology and offers up to 30% more performance than identically configured, an entire new line of next-generation CLARiiON CX300, CX500 and CX700 systems, which offer customers higher performance at the same price as previous models, and Celerra NAS Gateways and Integrated Systems, which serve to expand EMC’s NAS range.
