CERT signs MOU with Wipro
Wipro, the Indian IT major has announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center of Excellence for Applied Research and Training Colleges of Technology (CERT) to jointly develop and market IT consulting, solutions and services to customers in the region.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of HCT and Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro.
CERT and Wipro believe the larger objective of this alliance would be effective technology transfer through participation of UAE nationals in various stages of the project implementation and maintenance and through training.
CERT, which is the commercial arm of the Higher Colleges, has a mandate to develop the human resources of the UAE and currently providing corporate training and customised vocational programs for major organisations in the UAE. CERT's Technology Park located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai hosts a number of internation IT companies.
According to the MoU, Wipro and CERT will collaborate to design, develop and implement IT consulting, solutions and services for educational institutions, corporations, industry and government entities in the region. CERT-Wipro will provide applied research services and training in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for these segments in the region.

Wipro launched its Middle East operations in early 2001 in Dubai Internet City has operations spread across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait with government customers such as Dubai e-government, Dubai Dry Docks and Dubai Municipality.
