College takes lessons in logistics technology

Students from Dubai Men’s College have been learning about logistics technology from shipping and transport services provider, GAC.

Students from Dubai Men’s College’s e-commerce programme have been learning about logistics technology from shipping and transport services provider, GAC. At the firm’s Jebel Ali-based logistics center, students were taught about the warehouse management systems, including web-enabled tracking on stock balances and other statistics.

The field trip was part of a series of visits to corporate organisations, aimed at helping the students on the e-commerce programme to reach a level of vocational skills that will ease them into the business environment once they graduate.

“As a leader in the logistics industry, GAC is an excellent case study of a Dubai-based organisation achieving remarkable success in the application of information technology,” comments Tony Degazon, chair of Dubai Men’s College e-commerce programme.
