EMC, one of the world's leading provider of information storage solutions, announced today the appointment of the Riyadh-based National Technology Company, as its partner and value-added reseller across the Kingdom, in a move set to widen the company's client base in Saudi Arabia.

The storage vendor believes the announcement demonstrates its ongoing commitment to provide information management solutions and services to the Kingdom's medium-to-large enterprises.

This alliance, EMC senior officials said, would enhance its opportunities to widen its market reach in Saudi Arabia, with capable 'on-the-ground' assistance from its new partner - the 4-year old NTC. The two companies added that NTC's extensive customer base will benefit from the company's expertise in deploying the latest EMC hardware, software, and networking storage solutions.

"The Saudi storage market is poised for tremendous growth, with many service providers, particularly telecom, utilities and energy companies, currently evaluating their storage capacity and planning for their future business needs. NTC is investing considerably in boosting its storage capabilities so that we can provide EMC solutions rapidly and in a manner that integrates seamlessly with customers' existing systems," says Mansour Al Misfer, NTC's managing director.

"Our alliance with EMC will also reflect positively on the productivity, reliability and efficiency of our clients, enabling them to manage steadily increasing data volumes with the latest EMC solutions," adds Al Misfer.

With the steady increase of storage requirements in Saudi Arabia, the EMC-NTC partnership is expected to increase their respective market share figures. "Given its sound track record in the Saudi IT market, NTC is an ideal partner for us in Saudi Arabia," says Mohammed Amin, regional manager, EMC Middle East.

"This partnership will enable EMC to complement its existing market share in Saudi's most prominent industry sectors, such as government, energy, telecommunications, transportation, financial services and education, while capitalizing on new opportunities throughout the Kingdom," adds Amin.

In order to enhance its service levels to customers in the Kingdom, NTC is investing in an extensive training scheme for its technical team on the entire EMC product range. The program ensures that all NTC staff members have the necessary level of expertise to offer storage consultancy services.
