Royal Air Maroc receives first Airbus order

Royal Air Maroc has taken delivery of its first ever Airbus aircraft in Hamburg, Germany. The A321 is the first of four single-aisle aircraft ordered by the Moroccan national carrier from Airbus with the second plane set to be delivered in a few weeks time.

Royal Air Maroc has taken delivery of its first ever Airbus aircraft in Hamburg, Germany. The A321 is the first of four single-aisle aircraft ordered by the Moroccan national carrier from Airbus with the second plane set to be delivered in a few weeks time.

All of the aircraft are powered by CFM56-5B engines from CFM international and is able to seat up to 198 passengers. The new A321s will be used on Royal Air Maroc's medium hall high-density routes such as Casablanca-Paris.

Airbus will provide on line support to the Moroccan carrier and will have technical representation at Royal Air Maroc's Casablanca base. The Moroccan airline is also setting up a maintenance centre in Marrakesh alongside EADS Sogerma next year.
