Mindware is beefing up its operations in Egypt in an attempt to tap into the country's increasing investment in information technology. Key to this drive is the recently appointed Dalia El-Hindi, who will act as country manager for Mindware's operations in Egypt. Initially, the Mindware team will focus on enhancing its reseller channel and taking its Intel, Citrix and ADIC technologies to the market.
"Egypt is a growing market and there is a lot of potential in the country. We have a great chance to develop our business here and grow our market share. Having a presence in Egypt is a good way of doing this," says El-Hindi. "The current focus is on the resellers and in terms of products we will be concentrating on Intel, ADIC and Citrix," she adds.
Mindware is confident that it will be able to expand its presence in Egypt due its well-established operations elsewhere in the Middle East. Furthermore, El-Hindi says a local presence within the Egyptian market will generate further interest, as customers will be able to get closer to the company then ever before.
"The local acceptance for Mindware and its products is very good. People have known the Mindware name for a long time and they are happy that there is someone here that they can just pick up the phone and call in the local market," she says. "However, we also have to be aggressive in penetrating the market for things like solutions and storage because the market is still developing," El-Hindi adds.
Although Mindware's Egyptian operation may take a few months to find its feet, the distributor is targeting aggressive growth within the market. As El-Hindi says, "we hope we will be the biggest distributor in Egypt and have facilities for every single customer next year."
