Western Digital, one of the world's leading manufacturers of hard-disk drives (HDD), is opening its first dedicated service center in the Jebel Ali Free Zone - its first in the Middle East.
The company claims it is the only hard drive manufacturer in the world to have a distribution centre, regional sales office and service centre in the region.
"Customers will now be able to get replacement products in about one quarter of the time it used to take. With the new service centre, in addition to our recently opened distribution centre also at Jebel Ali Free Zone, Western Digital is setting the standard for hard drive service across the region," says Floris van Tol, operations director, EMEA, Western Digital.
The vendor believes its customers will now receive replacement products four times faster, compared to before.
The opening of the service centre follows closely the launch of the distribution centre, which streamlines the supply chain of products from the manufacturer to the customer. The 33-year old company's core business is hard drive solutions.
"We believe the new centre is one more way that Western Digital is addressing customer needs. Western Digital is taking the lead in the region's hard drive market, and the service centre has provided Western Digital a significant competitive advantage," explains Rauf Baig, senior regional sales manager, Middle East Africa and Central Asia, Western Digital.
