Radwa boosts efficiency with PeopleSoft project

The Saudi-based poultry giant has deployed PeopleSoft's EnterpriseOne ERP software to streamline its sales operation and reduce operating costs.

Radwa Food Production Company has streamlined its sales operation with the installation of PeopleSoft’s EnterpriseOne enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite.

The Saudi-based poultry giant has deployed the inventory and manufacturing modules of the software to track sales performance, assess current stock levels and respond in real-time to immediate market demand.

“Radwa deals with the freshest produce on the market — eggs, chickens and feed — and we need a solution that enables us to manage our stock levels in real-time,” comments Ahmed Basoudan, sales manager, Radwa Food Production Company.

“This solution allows us to calculate the exact numbers and availability of our inventory, track where our stocks are and process orders accordingly. If a customer wants to change their order, we can feed this into the system and respond immediately,” he adds.

EnterpriseOne, formerly JD Edwards OneWorld XE software before the PeopleSoft acquisition of earlier this year, also enables Radwa to manage returns and changes to orders. Industry studies show that managing returns represents as much as 10-15% of the average food production company’s operating costs. Radwa now hopes to radically reduce that cost.

Sales representatives from the poultry and feed company, can also remotely access the back office applications through handheld devices to make requests, check inventory and reroute orders according to customer demand.

Radwa also hopes to offer its supermarket customers personalised online inventories, so they can see current orders and update or confirm order details.

Jeddah-based BT Applied Technologies conducted the implementation in just four months. As part of the deal, the systems integrator will provide training for Radwa employees, functional and technical support for the internal infrastructure and help manage network operations.
