asmak automates aquaculture with ICICI Infotech

UAE aquaculture company asmak is to roll out ICICI Infotech's Orion ERP system to automate processes and provide enhanced reporting and financials

Asmak, the leading aquaculture company in the UAE is automating its operations with ICICI Infotech’s Orion ERP. The company, which has a range of operations from fish farming to food processing will roll out Orion to its offices in the UAE and Oman to improve its business process handling.

The ERP system will be utilised to manage a range of activities including, field sales, purchasing, financials processing and fish farming. Online reporting will provide better information to management, customers and business partners.

“Orion was our first choice because we believe that the solution has the necessary functionalities to meet our specific and exacting business needs,” said Bernard Durin, general manager, asmak. “Orion will enable us to efficiently share information online across our different departments, offices and our production & processing facilities and as result give us immediate access to critical management information quickly thus streamlining the whole decision-making process, a critical factor in ensuring future success.”

The project should be completed within six months, and will help to facilitate asmak’s expansion plans. A mobile element, Orion Palm, will also be deployed to provide access to sales data while in the field through PDAs.

“Orion is strategically placed to service asmak’s fish farming business requirements,” said Hari Padmanabhan, president, ICICI Infotech, Middle East and Africa. “We look forward to working closely with asmak and providing them with a solution that will transform the company’s business processes, improving operational efficiencies and collaboration throughout the enterprise.”
