Dubai Bank unveils Tijori
Dubai Bank has opened the doors to what it describes as ‘a state-of-the-art safe deposit locker facility.’ The automated facility known as Tijori, utilises a biometric palm reader to authenticate customers.
Dubai Bank has opened the doors to what it describes as ‘a state-of-the-art safe deposit locker facility.’ The automated facility known as Tijori, utilises a host of security checks to authenticate customers, including a biometric palm scan, and security boxes are dispatched courtesy of a ‘robot’ in the back end facility.
“The perception is that the higher the level of security, the more inconvenient that facility becomes. At Dubai Bank, we launched a product contrary to that. Tijori offers the highest level of security and offer the most convenient safety box facility available today,” claims Ricky Madan, vice president of Dubai Bank.
“Tijori is extremely user friendly and will help Dubai Bank meet the needs of a new generation of banking customers that demand quick, fast and flexible banking services,” he adds.
The facility, which is located outside Hall 1 at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, is open on a 24x7 basis, as opposed to the 8am to 1pm hours of other local facilities, says Fadi Matar, head of marketing & public relations with Dubai Bank.
As such, the bank felt it was imperative to provide a higher level of security. Consequently, customers will be required to use their ATM cards to enter the facility and individual strong rooms, following this they will be required to enter their ATM card and PIN number into the machine before using the biometric reader. Finally, their box will be dispatched.
Additionally, the facility will have a physical security presence, in the form of security guards, while alarms will sound if customers are in strong rooms for longer than 20 minutes. Furthermore, security cameras have been installed around the facility to provide customers with different views of the action occurring in and around Tijori.
The solution from Comexter incorporates Delphi software at the front end, along with C and C+ programs, which link to the back end hardware, which co-ordinates the robot’s movement and enables it to select the correct box. Meanwhile, customer data and security box details are housed in a program called WinSafeNet Server.
