HP's new thin client offers advanced manageability and affordability

HP has announced the first all-HP engineered thin client, with the highly flexible HP Compaq thin client t5700.

HP has announced the first all-HP engineered thin client, with the highly flexible HP Compaq thin client t5700.

Ideal for industries where access to centralised applications and a desktop-like experience is required, the HP Compaq thin client t5700s are small, solid-state devices that connect to current or legacy networks and drive local displays.

According to HP since all data is stored on the server and there are no local drives or moving parts, t5700s are easier to manage and offer enterprise customers greater reliability and security with dramatically lower computing costs.

“HP engineering expertise has allowed us to bring powerful, desktop-like performance and world class manageability to Middle East customers seeking an affordable enterprise-quality, thin client solution," said Thomas Greve, Desktops and Workstations category manager for the Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East.

“The HP thin client t5700 helps maximise security and lower ownership costs through reliable and consistent products that are easy to purchase, deploy and manage in dynamic enterprise environments,” he added.

HP says the t5700 can be set up in a matter of minutes, and global deployment capabilities provide the fastest and least expensive path to upgrade users to the latest applications. Available in legacy configurations for adaptability to almost any IT environment, the t5700 features the Microsoft Windows XP Embedded operating system for enterprise customers requiring expanded hardware and application support.
