DOHMS invests 1 million in APM solution

Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS) is set to implement Datastream’s asset performance management (APM) solution to aid the inventory, tracking and maintenance of its assets. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2004.

“Maintaining over 25,000 pieces of equipment in multiple locations and providing health-related services to around one million people is a big challenge,” says Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, director general of DOHMS. “Some of the biggest concerns we have had are tracking and managing mobile assets, complying with regulatory standards, scheduling and executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and guarding and managing an inventory of clinical equipment,” he adds.

DOHMS hopes to resolve this issue with Datastream’s 7i APM solution that will be implemented by the vendor’s local partner, Intertec Systems. "Intertec's selection was based on a combination of factors, including the company's inherent strength and expertise in providing IT solutions, its proven ability to successfully implement large projects and, of course, the features of Datastream 7i," says Murooshid.

"We believe Datastream’s 7i functionalities, such as asset management, work order management, material management, purchasing management, multi-organisation security, project management, scheduling and messenger, will provide enhanced capabilities for managing the engineering services," adds Saeed Al Shamsi, director of Engineering, DOHMS.
