Radisson SAS rolls out Scala

One of the top hotel chains in Saudi Arabia, Radisson SAS, has implemented Scala’s ERP software in its Riyadh, Yanbu and Jeddah properties to reduce overheads and boost the flow of information throughout its organisation.

It has rolled out a number of Scala’s applications, including its integrated property management systems (PMS), point of sale (POS) software and back office systems. Together, these allow Radisson SAS to view and analyse all aspects of each property’s financial performance in real time, prepare and analyse budgets and forecasts with up-to-the second information and eliminate duplicate data entry.

“Scala is a combination of integrated financial systems, software apps and consultation services that streamline operations and maximises efficiency throughout the hospitality business cycle,” says Benjamin Pozhuvelil, financial controller, Radisson SAS - Riyadh.

The decision to go with Scala was a simple one for Radisson SAS. “We chose Scala Hospitality for their solid technology systems, dedicated service and support and solid interfacing capabilities. Scala Hospitality is unique in the fact that their solution and ongoing enhancements are driven by the hospitality market needs,” explains Pozhuvelil.

Deployed in just two weeks, the solution replaces Radisson SAS’ aging legacy systems, which were unable to keep pace with the hotel chains’ growth.

“We migrated to Scala when we were convinced that the existing system would not provide us with the dynamics of business we are into,” says Pozhuvelil.

In addition to deploying the system, Scala Arabia also trained the Radisson SAS team on the new software. According to Pozhuvelil, this allowed users to be comfortable with the ERP app from the very start.

Moving forward, Radisson SAS has plans to roll Scala out to other properties within the Kingdom, as well as making better use of the software.

“Scala addresses our need to update current systems while providing the increased functionality we are looking for as we open new properties in the region,” confirms Pozhuvelil.
