Direct Computer Systems showcases new Pentium4 3GHz based PC
Direct Computer Systems, one of the leading PC assemblers in the Gulf, reports the success of its recent promtional event to display the power of its latest offering
Direct Computer Systems (DCS) reports that its recent promotional event, held at Dubai’s City Centre shopping mall was a great success. The event, which ran from 25th to 27th of December, showcased DCS’ latest PC offering, the Digital eXPerience 3000 HT series.
The showcase comprised of a kiosk in the shopping mall, with demonstrations of the capabilities of Intel’s new Pentium 4 3.06GHz processors. DCS, the first Intel Premier Provider in the Middle East, was one of the first assemblers in the region to get stocks of the 3GHz processors, and has wasted no time in pushing the chip to market. One of the major features of the new processors is hyper threading, which allows users to multitask more effectively.
“Hyper threading technology is a breakthrough in the IT industry and will revolutionise the technology by enabling multitask operations in a minimum of time, to offer higher levels of performance, creativity and productivity, effectively acting as two processors in one,” said Samer Bayrakdar, general manager of DCS.
The new PC from DCS makes full use of the HT technology, as was demonstrated by several demonstrations of Microsoft’s latest games, as DCS is also Microsoft’s first gold partner in the Middle East.
The Digital eXPerience 3000 HT is aimed at both high end business and home users. It comes with 256MB DDR RAM, a 40GB HDD, DVD writer, internal ADSL modem, a Hercules 9700 PRO 128MB VGA card and board providing a 533MHz FSB. The PC comes with a 17” LCD monitor, and buyers at the showcase also received three software bundles—a ‘web in a box’ package, Intel’s Power Games, and Intel’s Power Pack.
