Vertscape and Microsoft tie up for logistics and freight forwarding industry
Vertscape, provider of next generation e-business web services solutions, has collaborated with Microsoft to deliver specialised services for the region’s freight and logistics sector.
Utilising a Microsoft platform, Vertscape has developed a XeRM solution that delivers specialised benefits for the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
Designed to offer companies new capabilities for incorporating business interaction, updating workflow and customer information, and ensuring ready internal access to a password-protected browser interface, the solution is also built for rapid implementation and mobile access, facilitating synchronisation with PDAs, laptops and other devices for employees on the move.
Operating on Microsoft’s .Net platform, the XeRM solution from Vertscape also gives customers multiple means for checking the status of their accounts and coordinating freighting and logistical activities in real time, producing a superior online service for clients. “Vertscape understand that logistics is as much about the movement of information as it is about the movement of goods,” explains Chirag Patel, founder and director of products and strategy for Vertscape.
“Modern businesses need to update freight movement ‘round the clock, and this is vital for the success of the logistics and freight forwarding industry because of the wide variety of industries covered,” says Microsoft Middle East’s manager for emerging enterprises, Ashok Sharma.
“Operating on the .Net platform, the Vertscape solution provides a low-cost system for ensuring that freight forwarders have ready access to the details of the movements across global boundaries at any point in time. By integrating Microsoft’s Office XP into the TRACKER application, Vertscape offers flexible tools to enable freight forwarding companies to enhance efficiency and productivity across the organisation.”
