Canon: the size of your head matters
Canon arms large-format inkjets with new inch-wide, high-density print heads to satisfy the budding Middle East graphic art and photographic market.
Canon has launched two large-format ink jet colour graphics printers, the 35” wide W7200 and the 24” wide W7250, into the Middle East. Designed to deliver higher standards of image resolution, the printers boast new and improved wide print head technology.
Aimed at the graphic art and photographic market, but also adaptable to the office environment, the new Canon W7200 and W7250 printers accommodate print media of up to A0 and A1 respectively and incorporate a one-inch-wide, high-density print head.
Based on Canon's proprietary Bubble Jet technology, the new print head incorporates 7,680 tiny ink nozzles, 1,280 for each of the six colours, delivering print speeds of 2 minutes per page (A0 size/fast mode), 1.5 minutes per page (A1 size/fast mode) for the W7200 and W7250 respectively.
Bi-directional printing also increases print speed; whenever the print head moves from side to side it continually prints, rather than lifting and starting again.
Gordon Jones, President of Canon Middle East commented: “We are really pleased that Canon is able to break into the professional large format printing market in this region with these industry leading products; the W7200 and W7250. These products are currently offering the fastest print speeds, while retaining high resolution images through Canon's new print head technology.”
“We have consistently demonstrated how Canon's large format devices can offer the photographic and photo finishing markets the ability to reproduce digital images in poster size, with speed and ease,” he added.
