NREC boosts data availability with Oracle
Kuwaiti real estate development company, National Real Estate Co. (NREC), has deployed an Oracle-based enterprise portal to provide its users with a single access point for all of its corporate data.
National Real Estate Co. (NREC) has deployed an Oracle-based enterprise portal to provide its users with a single access point for all of its corporate data. Based on Oracle’s 9i Application Server Portal offering, the kuwaitfreezone.com site replaces the commercial real estate development company’s static website and is designed to give users faster, more reliable and secure access to information.
“With diverse property interests ranging from waterfront development to the Kuwait Free Trade Zone, NREC needed to aggregate both internal and external information sources to give us a complete, up-to-the-minute picture of our business. The company’s executives also needed a single, secure sign-on location to access the multitude of front- to back-office solutions running at NREC’s different sites,” explains Marwan Tayara, NREC’s IT director.
Currently being implemented by Oracle’s Kuwaiti partner, MIS, the final phase of the project will see NREC’s back-office financial information and front-office customer-facing applications integrated through the portal. This will allow the portal to serve as the focal point for conducting the company’s day-to-day property business.
“NREC anticipates that our new Oracle-based portal will significantly increase productivity by creating a single link to all of NREC’s most important business data. Similarly, the faster and more accurate data access will likely lead to greater competitive advantage for NREC,” comments Tayara.
Future phases of the NREC portal project are planned to include linking NREC’s partner and supplier communities to the portal for online collaboration and trading opportunities.
