As part of its continuing efforts to improve its standing among young generation mobile phone users in the Middle East, Samsung has launched the regional arm of its online community, the Samsung Fun Club (SFC). Through SFC, Samsung’s platform for value-added services plans to create the largest mobile community in the region.
“Samsung Fun Club, which is already operational in several Asian & European countries, including China, UK, Italy, Spain & Germany, have already proved to be highly popular among Samsung mobile phone users and we expect the same response here in the Middle East,” stated D K Byeon, managing director, Samsung Gulf Electronics.
“Samsung has an extremely committed and highly demanding customer base across the globe and a majority of which comprises the younger generation. Typically these customers want a lot more out of their handsets than just plain telephony. We, at Samsung are very conscious of such trends and are always looking at incorporating new user friendly and exciting features into our overall offerings,” he added.
He explained that the club was an extension of this concept and that it would “provide mobile phone customers with a platform to interact with each other and access several value-added services and programmes.” Customers can log on to www.samsungmobile.com/mea and fill a digital form to enrol as a member of the community.
Members get to download screen savers, wallpaper, images, graphics, video clips and 16-polyphonic ring tones. Favourite audio and video collections can be stored in the SFC archive, and can be downloaded or forwarded at any time. He also promised that several interesting and fun-filled activities including a series of quizzes and competitions were in store for club fans.
